Most lettuce is a good source of vitamin C, calcium, iron and copper. These are all things that we need to ingest a bit of each day to stay healthy.
Lettuce is planted and grows underground. Lettuce is a cool season crop, growing well in the spring. It grows best in temperatures of 7 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees Celsius. Lettuce grows quickly, so it's ideal to plant small amounts at a time. It grows best in moist soil and while growing, make sure to keep the soil moist. When lettuce is ready to be harvested it should be full sized, be sure to harvest it before it goes bad. If your lettuce wilts then put it in a bowl of water with ice for 15 minutes. Lettuce is harvested by hand by our employees. Most lettuce farms in Australia are in northern Victoria.
